Sea Turtle

What You Need:
• two paper plates
• brown construction paper
• dark green paint
• light green paint
• brown paint
• googly eyes
What to do:
• paint one paper plate dark green and the other one light green, dry then paint brown markings on the dark green plate.
• cut out legs and head using template
•glue dark green plate on top of light green plate, stick legs and head between plates. add eyes.

Paper Bag Whale

Stuff a White paper Bag with newspaper, paint blue or gray and add a large googly eye to create this adorable Whale.

Paper Plate Fish

Grab a paper plate, blue paint and a googly eye to create this simple Fish. Cut out a triangle from the plate and glue it to the back for a tail. Glue on googly eye and swim away! Add colored metallic paper to correlate to "The Rainbow Fish" book. The children will be thrilled to have their own Rainbow Fish to take home. Add a large craft stick to make it a puppet.

Collage Fish

Cut out 2x2 squares of tissue paper and glue to a large paper plate. Add eye, fins and tail.

Puffer Fish

Have children paint or color a large paper plate. Cut out small triangles for the "scales" and fold the bottom so they stick out like a Puffer Fish. (see picture) Add fins, eye, tail and mouth.

Rainbow Fish


Cut out fish from blue poster board. Allow children to choose from a variety of items to glue to their fish including sequins (shiny scales). Add a googly eye!

Easter Bonnet

What you need:• Paper Plates
• Green Paint
• Construction Paper various colors
• Glue Sticks
What to do:~ Paint the paper plate green
~ Fold paper plate in half and cut a slit in the
middle until you are approximately one inch from the edge.
~ Unfold and fold again the opposite way and repeat above. Do this until you have 8 "points" (like cutting a pizza into 8 slices
~ Decorate ends with flowers and Easter eggs cut from construction paper.

What Do You Hear?


Fill large plastic eggs with items that make sounds and seal with clear tape. Number the bottoms. The children shake each one and try to guess what is inside. They draw what they think it is on a chart like below.

Bunny Mask

What you need:• 2 paper plates per child
• pink paint
• hole puncher
• yarn
• pink pom poms

What to do:~ paint the center of one plate pink, allow to dry and cut in half (for ears)
~ cut two circles out for eyes on the 2nd plate and a triangle from the bottom (see picture above)
~ punch a hole on each side of the mask and insert yarn for tie

Hand Tulip


What you Need:
•Red,yellow and green paint
•construction paper
What to do: ~paint hand in yellow or red paint. Holding fingers together press hand down on the paper (fingers should NOT be spread open)~Paint side of hand
green and press down
on paper for stem.


Rain Sticks


What you need:
•Paper Towels Rolls (one for each child)
•Rice
•Construction Paper, glue sticks markers , stickers ,sequins, anything fun to decorate with.
•Masking Tape
•Wax Paper
~Cover one end of the paper towel roll with wax paper and using the making tape secure it around the tube.
~Using a plastic funnel have the child fill about 1/2 way.
~cover the other end of the stick with wax paper and secure it using the masking tape.
~Decorate with sequins, markers, stickers, construction paper etc
~Shake to hear "the rain

Pot Of Gold

What you need:
• paper plate
• black and yellow paint
• white glue

What to do:• Cut the paper plate to look like the one to your left (use the part you cut away and flip it to make the gold) and paint the large half black and the small part yellow (you can add gold glitter to make it sparkle (before paint dries). Glue together.

Leprechaun Hat

What you need:
• Paper Plates and bowls (the tough kind and NOT waxed)
• Green Paint
• Gold glitter
• white glue

What to do:

• cut out circle from plate (make sure bowl covers the hole in the plate).
• Paint the plate and the bowl and sprinkle with glitter BEFORE it dries. Attach bowl to plate using white glue (place a book on top to hold it together until the glue dries).

The Wee Little Leprechaun

The wee little leprechaun
What you need:
•Orange, yellow, dark green,
light green, black, pink,light
blue, and white construction
paper.
•Glue sticks
•Peach Crayons

What to do:

~ Cut out a large circle for the head on white paper and color with peach crayon. Cut out a hat from dark green paper, a clover from light green paper, yellow square for buckle on hat, black strip for hat (or you can color this on with black marker), tear orange paper for beard and eye brows. Add blue eyes and pink nose.

100th Day Of School







Send a note home to Parents asking them to help their child find 100 things to display and bring in for the whole class to see! Above are just a few of the displays our children brought to school!

Valentine's Day Gift

Paint both hands and form a heart like shown on white construction paper. Glue to poster board. Cut out small squares and create a pattern around the edge for the frame. Our students copied the words "I love you" and wrote their names! Add some yarn for hanging!

Marble Painting ~Hearts~

Cut out hearts from construction paper and place at the bottom of a shallow pan or bin. Squirt red and white paint onto the heart, add marbles and tilt pan around to create pink hearts!

Edible Valentine Craft

Make this cute edible craft by covering the top of a caramel rice cake with pink icing (mix white icing with pink food coloring) and add fruit shaped candies for eyes, nose and mouth.

Valentine Sundae

Fill a plastic vase with conversation hearts (all purchased from the dollar store). Insert two "sugar stix" on each side to represent the straws. Use a glue gun to add the marshmallow hearts and flowers (purchased from CVS). Add a "jelly" red heart (from dollar tree).

Paper Plate Valentine Fish

Grab a paper plate,red paint and a googly eye to put together this fish. Cut out a triangle from the plate and use it for the tail.

Valentine Box

Have the children crate their own Valentine Box at home. Send the following note home with their parents: Dear Parents,With Valentine's Day quickly approaching we would like for you and your child to create a special Valentine Box to hold their Valentine's in. They will be displayed in the classroom. We hope that you will enjoy this time with your child creating their own special box. You may use any items you wish to create the box, some suggestions are an old shoe box or an empty kleenex box. Have fun and use your imagination!

Heart People

Make this cute heart person by cutting out several hearts large and small and folding paper accordion style and put together with glue. add eyes etc with a marker.

Valentine Bead Heart

Thread beads onto a pipe cleaner and shape like a heart! Easy and makes a great gift!

Heart Animals




Create these simple heart animals by cutting many hearts out of construction paper, large, small, pink and red. Allow the children to create any animal they wish by using the hearts and gluing them onto yellow or white construction paper. Add googly eyes and draw on antenna's etc...

Styrofoam Cup Snowman


Use white glue to join the rims of the cups together as shown. Allow to dry overnight. Decorate the cups using anything you wish, such as sequins, construction paper,googly eyes etc..

Torn Paper Snowman

Trace a large circle and a small circle
onto blue construction paper with a pencil. Have children tear pieces of white construction paper and glue them into the circle like shown. Tear pieces of black construction paper for the hat. Add small black pom poms for the eyes and large pom poms for the buttons. Cut an orange triangle out or tear one for the nose. Glue brown pipe cleaners on for the arms.
