Johnny Appleseed Game

Have children sit on the floor with their legs "criss crossed" Pick one child to be "Johnny" and sit him/her in a chair with their back facing the children who are sitting on the floor. Give one child who is sitting on the floor a beanbag (which will represent the apple seed) and have them hide it beneath them. The children then all say "Johnny Johnny Where can your seed be? Stand up, turn around and find it for me!" The child stands up and chooses a child who they think has their seed. They may guess 3 times. The child who has the seed goes next. Lots of fun!

I Have Ten Fingers!

I have ten fingers (hold up ten fingers)
and they all belong to me (point to self)
I can make them do things,
Would you like to see?
I can shut them up tight (make fists)
I can open them wide (open hands)
I can put them together (put palms together)
I can make them all hide (hide behind back)
I make them jump high (put over head)
I can make them jump low (touch floor)
I can fold them up quietly (fold hands in lap)
And hold them just so.

Ten Apples On Top

Read "Ten Apples On Top" by Dr. Seuss. On a Long piece of paper draw a circle on the very bottom to draw face (child draws his/her own face). Use an apple sponge, stamp, or cut an apple in half, dip in red paint and stamp as many apples as you wish on top of the head.
