And he picked one apple right out of that tree!

1 Little Apple hanging in a Tree,
Teasing Farmer Brown "Can't pick me,"
Along came Farmer Brown as quiet as can be,
And he picked that apple right out of that tree!
No more apples hanging in the tree,
Farmer Brown picked them and shared one with me,
The rest are in a pie, as warm as can be,
Topped with yummy ice cream and served with tea!

Caught Being Good!
Bring some Positive Reinforcement to your classroom by making this easy fish bowl from poster Board and laminating. Add a fishing pole with yarn. When you "catch" a child doing something good like sharing, being kind etc their fish goes into the fish bowl. At the end of the day I get my "basket" of treats and have the children gather around to announce who was caught being good and what they did. Those children receive a "big" round of applause and a special treat from the basket!

Create this tree with poster board, laminate then attach magnetic tape to where you would like the apples placed. Make the apples using foam (you will need 10) and add a magnet to the back of each one so they will "attach" to the tree magnets. Sing the song below and remove one apple and pretend to eat it as you count down. Continue until there are no more apples on the tree.

and ate it hungrily (pick one apple off the tree and pretend to eat it)

Johnny Appleseed Game
Have children sit on the floor with their legs "criss crossed" Pick one child to be "Johnny" and sit him/her in a chair with their back facing the children who are sitting on the floor. Give one child who is sitting on the floor a beanbag (which will represent the apple seed) and have them hide it beneath them. The children then all say "Johnny Johnny Where can your seed be? Stand up, turn around and find it for me!" The child stands up and chooses a child who they think has their seed. They may guess 3 times. The child who has the seed goes next. Lots of fun!

I have ten fingers (hold up ten fingers)

Would you like to see?
I can shut them up tight (make fists)

I can put them together (put palms together)
I can make them all hide (hide behind back)
I make them jump high (put over head)

I can fold them up quietly (fold hands in lap)
And hold them just so.
